Eating Independently

Owen has been eating table food with his fingers for a long time, but just recently has really been into using spoons and forks ( and as you're about to see... even a straw! :)  Now, granted, he's not that great at it yet, but you have to start somewhere!

Our 1st Trip to the Zoo

My cousin was very thoughtful to get us season passes to the zoo this year, so Jim and I took Owen for the first time a few Saturdays ago!

No, Owen is not making some kind of cool animal pose, just rubbing eyes! :)

We had a good time and look forward to more visits!

Easter

Easter morning with his eggs!  The Easter Bunny brought a Leap Frog magnetic letter set for the fridge.  I was excited because I thought it would entertain him while I finished getting myself ready for church.  WRONG!  :)  He just carried it around and followed.my.every.step.!!  :)

Sunday school

Fussy baby during church and afterwards!! (I think we are getting some more teeth!)

And then the famous group shot...

And Michael's definition of insanity:  "Trying to get a group shot of one year olds!"

Owen's Boo-Boo

So I thought I would post a picture of the boo-boo that happened the night before our Easter pictures.  Owen fell and hit the corner of the chair and instantly this bump came up.  He cried for two minutes, I cried for twenty! :) Jim wasn't home yet, so I called Julie and she came over to check him out.  (I think the Lord knew I needed a sister and a sister-in-law who were both nurses!)  Of course, by the time Julie got there he was running around and laughing.  I know this momma's heart has GOT to get tougher, because knowing my 150% boy, this is just the first of many boo-boos, but my my, it sure is hard!

My own 24-hour on call nurse! :)
