Joy in the Everyday Tasks

Well, the bottles are all washed right now... at least for another three hours or so.  The laundry is also well on its way to being complete and yet I know that tomorrow I will do it all over again.  I have to be honest and say that it's really hard to be joyful about washing bottles and doing laundry when it feels like you're not completing anything because it will just be dirty in a matter of hours, or sometimes minutes!!  ( Our little guy has really started spitting up).  And yet I know that I have SO MUCH to be thankful for... I have a healthy baby boy that is eating and growing and that involves a lot of joy and just a few tasks I would rather skip.  So, today I remind myself that God tells us to be joyful in EVERYTHING... not just the fun tasks or the tasks where you feel like you've really done something great.  I think the real test comes in the form of the "everyday."  So today I remember 2 Thes. 5:18 "...in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."

My New Trick

As you can probably imagine, we are captivated by all that Owen does...especially in the last few days as he has learned a new trick.  He throws up his legs in the air and then uses that momentum to turn over on his side.  You can put him down on a blanket facing one direction and after a few minutes of this new trick he has managed to work his way all around the blanket.  We are loving it!  Here are some photos of our little guy in action.

Mom and Dad's Date Night

Last Friday night I noticed that my mom starting packing up my bag... this meant we were going somewhere!! I got excited.  Where could it be?  Mimi and Papa's house? Church?  Well when we got in the car I heard Dad mention Aunt JuJu's house and I then I got REALLY excited... I was going to Aunt JuJu's to be spoiled rotten!! YEAH!!!  Here's a pic of me at Aunt JuJu's!!  Mom and Dad were going out on a date without me, but I didn't mind now that I was at Aunt JuJu's.

But then this CUTIE showed up...

I mean, does it get ANY cuter than that???  It was cousin Jesse!!! Seems like
Uncle Michael and Aunt Kristy had a date night planned as well.  What
could be better than a playdate with Jesse at Aunt JuJu's?  But
Aunt JuJu had other plans in mind... pictures!!!!
At first we were calm, but than Jesse and I had enough of the
photo opportunity and decided to let our voices be heard.

Well, this is definitely not a democracy, because Jesse and I ended
up in infant prison... the pack and play.

At least we have some crazy monkeys to look at in here!!:)

What a fun night we all had!

Ashley's Visit

Today my good friend and college roommate, Ashley, came to visit.  We had such a good time catching up with each other and watching each other's kids.  We started the day at my house and after feeding the babies, we headed to the mall for a quick lunch and a ride on the carousel for Noah.  Then we tucked all kiddos in strollers and headed out for a walk around the mall.  We ended the day letting Noah play in the play area. Ashley is such a special friend.  She is the type of friend that makes you want to be better... a better wife, a better mother, a better friend, etc.  She encourages me every time we talk or are together.  We marvel at God's blessings... remembering the countless times in college where we wondered where life would take us.  I thought it would be fun to include some photos of Ashely and I.  The first two are of us at my wedding, the third one is from when we were both pregnant this summer, and finally our kids together wrap up the pictures.  I know I didn't get enough picture for our dear friend Emily, :) but we had three kids, two strollers, and rain!!!
