Zip Lining

Well, a few Saturdays ago Jim and I and a group of friends went zip lining.  This was Jim and I's first time to go and we had a blast.  Now, my legs were shaking for a while afterwards, but I can honestly say I'm glad I went.  Some of the worst parts were climbing up the ladders, bridges, etc. to even get to the point where you jump off.  Afterwards the boys decided to try the challenge of climbing this pole straight up, then hoisting themselves on a 1 by 1 piece of wood at the top, and jumping off and trying to ring a bell that was hung nearby.  It was impressive to watch, although none of our guys were successful in ringing the bell.  We had a b-bque meal and bonfire afterwards.  It was a great day! 

What a Difference A Year Makes!!!

On November 17, 2010 our lives were forever changed ... as I look back at each month's picture I remember the challenges, joys, fears, laughter, and tears.  I know that God has graciously provided time and time again for us and He has blessed us tremendously.  Surely our cup runneth over!

It has been a year like none other!

Owen is 12 months!

Well, we took Owen for his one year well visit last week.  He weighs 22 pounds (40 percentile) and is 30 inches long (60 percentile).  He is very close to walking, but not there yet.  He will stand alone more and more these days.  He points at everything and says, "uhh" all day long! :)  Some of his favorite things to point and "name" are clocks, lamps, doors, and balloons.  He loves to play with his spoons and anything he can grab out of the recycle bin! :)  He also loves to be chased. The doctor told us it's time to wean those bottles away and also move to whole milk.

Owen's First Birthday Party

  We had Owen's first birthday party on Friday night at our house.  We kept it simple with just family, but Owen did fabulous and we all had fun.  We had barbeque and sides and of course cake for dessert! :)  Owen loved his gifts, but he especially loved playing in the bags, tissue paper, and the balloons!  Enjoy these pics from our baby's first birthday party!   Warning:  There are a lot of pics, but hey... you only celebrate your first birthday once! :)

The last gift "for Owen" was mighty big!  I asked Jim to open it because... surprise... it really was a gift for Jim!

Everyone wanted Daddy to open it...well it turned out that Daddy got his birthday/Christmas present from the entire family this night as well... no more watching his good ole' college tv. :)
